I'm an Irish .NET Developer, living and working in the USA since 2001. I have a pretty eclectic background which includes running a truck dealership, playing professional blues guitar and photography. Although I no longer play gigs, like most guitar players, I love guitars and still buy ones I can ill afford just to throw candy at them. My latest squeeze is a 1959 Murphy Lab Les Paul Standard.

I've been working with C# and .NET since 2003. I started with ASP.NET Web Forms and eventually made the switch to MVC. Although I'm skilled with HTML and CSS, my main passion is the craft of creating quality software. Software architecture is what really puts the fire in my belly. These days, I have turned my attention to the back-end in general, and REST API in particular.

I used to blog up to 2012 under the name CodersBarn and was getting up to 10,000 unique hits a month. As often is the case, life happens. I moved from Northern California to Colorado in 2017. I have worked for local government, parks & recreation, oil and gas, the mortgage industry, and currently in the electronic monitoring of bad guys. I have since moved to my wife's home state of Wyoming in 2022. We have a three year old toddler and life is beautifully hectic!

I won't be just blogging about software development. A lot has changed in twelve years: Artificial Intelligence, remote working, man buns, etc. A blog is personal so the topics will vary. Hobbies, travel, AI, chess, playing guitar, water coloring, Chinese balloons... stay tuned!
